Amazing Race Season 13 Episode 2

Ah…Tivo is great! I just finished watching the 2nd episode of this season’s Amazing Race. Here’s a quick recap and other tid bits: The final ten teams had to catch a flight to Fortaleza, Brazil. Once there the 20 adventure racers taxied to the beach where they had to hitch a ride on the beach in a dune buggy! (It looked like so much fun.) After the beachin’ ride the racers had a Detour and display some serious teamwork:

1. Push a 450 pound boat 100 yards into a nearby inlet
OR
2. Find a cargo rig (amongst 100′s, if not 1,000′s) in the massive port

All the teams except for the Geek Squad (Mark and Bill) chose to push the boats into the water and it paid off because M&B was in first after the Detour. Kelly and Christy (divorcees) meant to to the cargo rig, but somehow ended up at the boat pushing. They lost some time looking for the their next clue, but somehow figuring out that they needed to catch a taxi (up a nearby hill) and onto the next challenge. Terence and Sarah totally lost tons of time trying to find the taxi (good thing they’re both in good aerobic shape, as they needed to run back (not sure how far, but far enough).

Next everyone came to the season’s first Road Block. Each team had to select one member to find the town painted on a wall (the seemed to stretch a football field). The smart teams wrote all the cities and read them to the barer of the next clue revealing the pit stop located in Cidade de Crianca, Brazil. Here’s how they finished: (1) Ken/Tina, (2) Mark/Bill, (3) Terence/Sarah, (4) Aja/Ty, (5) Toni/ Dallas, (6) Nick/Star, (7) Kelly/Christy, (8) Dan/Andrew, (9) Brooke/Marisa, (10) Anthony/Marisa-Eliminated
