With the economic meltdown, the debates in full swing and the election just 25 days away I wanted to tell you about the good news no matter what your political faction. Bikes! I know that High Trek Adventure doesn’t include this mode of transport in our urban adventure race, but we are a green company and want you to be the greenest you can be.

Congressman Earl Blumenauer representing Oregon’s 3rd District (Portland) introduced the bill. It was pork added to the $700 billion dollar bailout. Here’s the gist: If you commute to work via a bicycle then your eligible to receive $20 for repairs, parking and other expenses per month. Talk to your employer about the new H.R. 1498, the Bike Commuter Act and you could save $240 annually.
