Out of time and out of gas

Have you ever been in a situation where you need a lift somewhere and you feel paralyzed because you have no means of getting there? That’s how the Bay Area is going to feel starting Monday when BART workers go on strike. I’ll be affected by it. I live in Walnut Creek and BART to and from work each day (about 11 miles). My significant other takes the only car we own to work in the opposite direction! UGH!
Well, if you ever need a lift because of a myriad of reasons: only one car in the family, car breaks down, public tranist goes on stike or aliens take over the world, whatever, then here is a list of carpooling sites and blogs you’ll want to keep in your hip pocket:
Ride Search
SF Ride (San Francisco)
Portland Carpooling (Portland, OR)
Get Downtown (Ann Arbor, MI)
Forbidden Planet (funny blog post…fighting crime by carpooling)

More to come…we’ll break down by region like we did with event listings
