Tons of Fun at the Wintry Polar Dash

Congratulations to all of the finishers of the Team Ortho Polar Dash on January 1, 2011! Only 157 days ’til the next friggin’ crazy run! Get your Snuggy ready!

Race Recap
The race was a balmy 7 degrees, a little windy, even a little sunny at times — and ALWAYS fun! It was an ideal combination for a New Year’s Day 5K or 10K!

Racers arrived in the Yellow “Limos” prepared with winter running gear (some runners were even dressed as polar bears!). Even though there was talk of rough winter weather for Saturday morning, the weather didn’t impact the race at all; in fact it added to the ambiance of a fun winter race. The Polar Dash went off without a hitch. Runners stayed warm in our heated warming tents, and took pictures with some very friendly Team Ortho penguins! But when it was “go time” they hustled down to the start for the big race. About 2,000 people signed up to do the race. Once the racers started finishing, some described the weather as “perfect” for the race.

Many pro-sports teams have an alternate logo. So the creative geniuses that we are, we thought that we too should have an alt logo. The original alt logo (see below) in know affectionately as “The Bullseye” logo. We wanted to created logos that showcsed this cool “bullseye” design, but wanted it to appeal to your hometown and thus “The City Bullseye” was born.
CitySolve Urban Race still branching out in the Midwest (recently added Indianapolis to the 2011 race schedule), but you need to wait for us to have a good time. You just need to check out Topo Adventure Sports.

Topo Adventure Sports was created to help promote and expand the adventure racing community in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and nearby states. Our main focus is adventure racing, but we’re happy to see involvement in any outdoor endurance-based activity. This can include a LOT of possibilities, including mountain biking, orienteering, paddling (canoe, kayak, raft), rappelling, ascending, inline skating, etc.

If you live in this region and you’re interested in getting off your butt and have some physical activity/fun then you gotta join these events. We hope to add our CitySolve Urban Races to these parts real soon.

P.S. We hope to add CitySolve Urban Race Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Columbus by 2013.
