I’m definitely a social media geek! Though, I dress cool (I think so anyway) and have many kitchen gadgets. =)

CitySolve Urban Race use social media to stay connected with its loyal following. It also uses social media in its online and offline competitions. Currently, CitySolve UR uses the following social media (in some capacity):

Facebook – who doesn’t use this? I can name two people, my dad and a friend who doesn’t own a cell phone. Good grief!

We had our first winner of CitySolve Urban Race’s Mini Hunt (outside of the state of California)! Amanda Freitag (Twitter name: @amandamfreitag) of Dallas was the first to find our crew at Ten Sports Grill!

What’s a Mini Hunt? It’s an online and offline contest that requires you to use social media (Twitter). Once a week CitySolve Urban Race will post a clue. Your job is to be the first to find us. We’re usually at a bar. When you find us (assuming you’re the first person to do so) you’ll win great prizes!

We will do this EVERY week regardless if CitySolve Urban Race is having an event or not. All you have to do is follow us on Twitter. Twitter is fun and useful! Just ask Amanda!

Do you like the Road Rules? How about Yelp? If yes to both then you gotta check out this Yelp job. So it appears anyway (the job listing is only up for 24 and launches on April Fools Day). It’s definitely the coolest thing next to working for CitySolve Urban Race. Yelp (one of our national partners) is filming a reality show where a handful of lucky Yelpers will get to travel the country Yelping all the way!

Casting company is looking for outgoing men and women between 23-40 years of age that fit the following identities:

Pretentious Gourmand
DFW (Down For Whatever)
Yelp Serial Dater
The Virgin
The Exasperated Elite
Yelper With Privileges

If this sounds like you, then send in the awesomest photo you’ve got (of yourself), a Yelp Haiku and/or why you should be unleashed upon America (in 25 words or less), and a link to your Yelp profile to yelpamerika@yelp.com! We only see each other about once a year; two or three times if we’re lucky. Absence does make the heart grow strong, but who needs a stronger heart, maybe the Grinch and Dick Cheney. Let’s make it easy on the both of us…let’s use social media to bridge our bond. Here are some simple tools to stay connected with us and why.

Facebook – With more than 300 million world wide subscribers its no wonder why you should be here. On our FB page you’ll see race photos, race highlights, our blog feed, see racers comments, event listings and more.

Twitter – Many people don’t understand how to use this, but we do and can show you (email me at jason@CitySolveUrbanRace.com). You’ll find photos of what we’re eating and seeing as we travel around this great nation of ours. Also: the occasional hint of a clue for an upcoming race, customer service and more.

Yelp – We love to Yelp and it shows. Here you’ll find out what we like and don’t (mainly Yelp about restaurants). You’ll also find our event listings and customer service.

Blog – Don’t want to join Facebook or Twitter, but still want to see the world through our eyes? Then subscribe to our RSS. It’s easy and fun.

Flickr – Now more user friendly. We all of our race photos and post yours here, too.

Benjamin Braddock learned in the ’60′s that plastics was the future…we now know that Twitter is the future! I would probably die if I couldn’t use TweetDeck, TwitterFon, TwitPic or any of the other great many Twitter applications.

Now I just found out about Twares . What’s a Tware, you ask. A Tware is a fare only found on Twitter! OMG! My life is complete. It feels like I fly all the time and Tweet even more than my air travel. At this point I’ve only seen Twares offer by United Airlines . Let me know if other airlines offer these great insider deals.

It pays to be on the cutting edge of the social media curve!
